Alvina Hammer and Evelyn Carlson were two pioneering women who believed children with developmental disabilities could learn and flourish and devoted their lives to creating a school and services designed to meet their special needs. Their vision and their work greatly influenced disability services across Minnesota and the country.

Direct Support Professional Recognition Week (Sept. 10-16) is a great opportunity to highlight our dedicated, caring, and innovative direct support professionals who are the heart and soul of supports for people with disabilities.
