Hammer’s Volunteer of the Month for October is Whitney Blasko.
Whitney began volunteering with Heidi eight years ago. She became interested in volunteering at Hammer after meeting Ellen Timmerman-Borer at the Wayzata Chamber of Commerce.
Volunteering has always been important to Whitney. She loves to be with people, and spending time with Heidi has brought a different meaning to volunteering. Heidi has become her dear friend.
After volunteering over 244 hours , Whitney says her favorite memories are all the laughter she has shared with Heidi. They can be pretty silly together.
Whitney stays engaged as a volunteer because of the meaningful friendship she has developed with Heidi over the years.
When asked what she would say to someone considering volunteering with Hammer, Whitney says, “Do it! We all have the same amount of time in a given day. We each get to choose to some extent how we spend it. I’ve never regretted the time I’ve spent volunteering with Heidi!”
Thank you Whitney, for your time, commitment and friendship with Heidi! If you are interested in volunteering contact Cathy Thoma at cthoma@Hammer.org
