The Volunteer of the Month for August is Andrew Pollock!

Andrew became a volunteer with Hammer in March of 2018 after another friend and volunteer recommended us to him.

Matched with Ryan at Eden Place, Andrew’s favorite memory so far is taking Ryan to the Minnesota State Fair last year. It was a beautiful day and they were able to enjoy all the great things the fair has to offer, especially the food!

Andrew says that seeing how much it means to Ryan when they are together is what keeps him engaged. “It’s very gratifying to see him happy and having fun, whether we’re playing video games, disc golf or watching a movie.”

Andrew also says that, “volunteering with Hammer has reinforced important ideas like inclusion and acceptance and how important that is in this day and age.”
