Celebrating Our CareGivers–June 2022

Congratulations to Monti Patrick and William Odame!
Now, more than ever, it’s important to recognize, thank, and celebrate all of our dedicated caregivers. Each month, our Program Directors nominate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and Assistant Program Managers (APMs) who are going above and beyond to make a difference in the life (or lives) of those they serve. One nominee from the West metro area (Hammer) and one from the East metro area (NER) will be selected each month and will receive their choice of a $25 gift card to Starbucks, Target, Holiday, or Cub Foods.

Monti Patrick

Program Director, Kelly Bosch, says Monti has been a consistent presence at Royal Oaks for over 10 years. “He knows the individuals so well and, specifically, how to handle when they are upset. He can use humor to cheer them up or redirect agitation or frustration. He has excellent rapport with all the individuals at Royal Oaks and can navigate the challenges of the job because of his experience and the trust our individuals have in him.”

Kelly adds that Monti works at building relationships with all the individuals he supports and does it in the most effective (and fun!) manner. “He has an excellent sense of humor that comes out every day,” she says.

William Odame

“William always has a positive attitude and adapts easily to rapid change in the workplace,” says his Program Manager, Bode Ogunfowora. “The day program pick-up times have been changed a couple of times, but William is always willing to adjust his time/schedule so that the individuals we support are able to get ready in the morning. He ensures all the ladies are on time for their buses.”

Bode adds that William is reliable and has a great work ethic. “He is a team player and has good communication and rapport with staff and the people we support,” he says.

Thank you Monti and William for ALL you do each day to support the individuals we serve.
