Providing the right care at the right time means transforming our homes and the care and services we provide. With additional investments, we can commit to accessible space, increased nursing attention, specialized employee training and end-of-life care that is personal, compassionate and person-centered.
Philanthropic support ensures our caregivers will be able to continue to meet the complex needs of those we serve who are living with an intellectual disability throughout their lives.

$3.7 million raised
Goal: $5 million
Hammer & NER accepts multi-year gifts of cash, stocks, and IRA distributions.
DID YOU KNOW?
- Sixteen of our homes require $1.2 million in major renovations in order to serve our aging population and the increasing needs of those we support.
- As the people age, the transition care they require is not covered by current funding. That care includes nursing in apartments, assessments, training for the caregivers and developing and delivering enhanced care plans.
- It currently costs more to run a home than we are reimbursed through government funding. One or two open beds for four months equate to a loss of $100,000 in revenue. Beds cannot be filled until someone qualifies for a waiver, with new, more restrictive qualification in effect on July 1.
“I care about Hammer & NER because I believe it represents the best in humanity. The act of caring for others, particularly those who cannot fully care for themselves, is a profound and honorable vocation. To be able to support such an organization’s mission, now and into the future, is something that fills me with purpose and pride.”
