Fundraising Priorities
- Recruiting and retaining caregivers and hospice care professionals who are specifically trained in dementia, personal cares, and end-of-life care, who are appropriately compensated, and have the necessary tools to provide evolving levels of care.
- Providing homes that can be purchased or adapted for peoples’ changing needs (with ramps, widened hallways, roll-in showers, accessible outdoor spaces, and lift vans).
- Implementing technology that attends to health and safety, including sensors that monitor motion, trigger lights when entering a room, and bed sensors to let a caregiver know when a person is awake to reduce the risk of wandering and falls.
- Providing a model of service for those we support who are not working, are employed part time, or are retired with opportunities to socialize and to spend time in their communities participating in meaningful activities during the day.
With donor support, our caregivers will be able to continue to meet the complex needs of the people we support who are living with a developmental disability plus dementia.
