My Sister Val's StoryFamily Matters - YOU Matter!
You can join family members and caregivers at Hammer who stepped up and saved my sister Val’s life.
My sister Val is 72 years old and has lived at Merrimac since 1997. Last year Val became gravely ill and was not expected to survive. During the same time, Megan Bernatz, Program Manager at Merrimac, was diagnosed with cancer. Megan came to be by our side, to support us, despite her risk of serious infection.
That’s where your gifts make a difference. Fundraised dollars allowed Megan and others from Hammer to be with Val in the hospital, hold her hand and become her voice. When doctors gave us little hope, they made all the difference in the world. Megan advocated for Val, leading her care team to bring Val back from her deathbed.
Thank you for saving Val’s life and being a part of our miracle.
I contribute and I encourage everyone to do the same, because I know that Val needs the Hammer team for life. Let’s help those who desperately need our support. Will you join me and invest in our loved ones and their caregivers every year?
