Meet Our Emcee: Joe Fryer
Joe Fryer is a correspondent for NBC News. He’s based in Los Angeles and reports for NBC Nightly News, TODAY Show and MSNBC. Joe joined the network in 2013 and has covered some of the world’s biggest stories, including Hurricane Harvey and the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.
Before joining NBC, he reported for KARE 11 in Minnesota, which is his home state. Joe grew up in Rogers and graduated from Elk River High School. His family still calls the Twin Cities home. His mom Merrilee is a beloved caregiver for Hammer, working with those who live in a Hammer group home. She teaches independent living skills and assists with health and personal care.
Joe’s a proud graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. He is a National Emmy nominee and has been honored with 19 regional Emmys, four national Edward R. Murrow Awards and 11 regional Murrows.
Joe is known for his in-depth feature stories about brave, resilient people have earned praise and a place in our hearts.
