Thank you so much for sharing such a personal story, Peter! Both you and Carrie have that great attitude and zest for life- no wonder your son adopts it as well. Blessings to you all.

In reply to <a href="https://hammer.org/blog/2014/05/living-life-to-the-max/#comment-202">Jeanne</a>.

A wise person named Dorothy said to me when my own children were struggling...."just love them." I repeat those words everyday. Although our children's bumps in the road are much different, love is the key to their happiness. Max reminds me of a sweet, loving, and funny boy that I took care of in college. I love you Peter and I love that precious family of yours. Thank you for the blog.......it made a difference in my day!

Peter, I remember the years I took care of you during the summer. You were such a sweet, loving, funny and happy boy. I loved every minute of those summers living with you and your parents. Max is sure to live that good life, too. He reminds me a lot of you! Struggles are hard for parents to watch. A very wise person named Dorothy gave me simple words to live by when I had to watch my children struggle. "Just love them," she said. I live by those words everyday..... although our children's struggles are much different, love is the key to their happiness. I love you "Pete the Sweet" and I love that precious family of yours!
